Butterfly Conservatory

Last week Saturday, Mike and I headed out to the Cambridge area for our "Valentines" date, and a little down time. Since were often a little stuck for what to do for dates in the winter, we decided to go indoors to get out sunshine and warm weather. I wasn't long after we arrived that outside turned into a white wall and we could barely see out the windows. Inside the conservatory however, it was as warm as could be.

Of course, the butterflies like Mike better. Here I wanted them to land on me, but no they of course land on him. At least this means I got some close ups of the beautiful butterflies.

After several rounds of me walking around the conservatory take a great variety of close ups of different butterflies, we discovered that they had taken out this friendly and tropical bird. After some younger kids and two girls who were quite ecstatic over the bird, had their chance the bird was passed on to me. Mike of course insisted on placing the bird on top of his head, and since i'm so short... I couldn't take a good picture. However the two youngsters that were looking on were quite entertained by this.

We then went to Southworks which contains several outlets as well as a large antique mall. We spent hours upon hours with the antiques only to come outside and realize almost everything else was closed. We only purchased one thing, but it was really interesting to here small little facts from Mike about various little pieces of history. Overall a very enjoyable time.

NYC - Day Three Central Park and Columbus Circle

To finish off our last day, my friends and I headed in the direction of Lady Liberty, but were to tired out to get the entire way there. We made it to the end of central park, which wasn't too far from our hotel (the corner near the famous Plaza Hotel). Next we visited Columbus Circle then stopped in at a diner (which I unfortunately have no pictures of) and then picked up our luggage and boarded the bus one last time for our trip home.

The next series of pictures is a little interesting  Sam was hyper and the rest of us were quite exhausted, which pretty much equals entertainment.

The next photo is one of those that I usually have the discretion not to post for the sake of the subject. However I was told by the subject that I must post it... or else. So here it is Meghan!

Kathleen doing her... stretches? Did I mention that by this point we started to get a bit weird?

Sam really wanted to be in the picture... again. I think it helped the photo along aesthetically.

This is a squirrel we got really close to. Must be used to people.

Columbus Circle.
